El Aikido fue fundado preservando el más puro espíritu Samurai por el gran practicante de artes marciales O`Sensei Morihei Ueshiba, considerado por muchos como el más grande de los maestros de artes marciales del Japón.
El Aikido era definido en sus inicios como un arte marcial de élite, sólo personas con amplios conocimientos en otros artes marciales, oficiales de alto rango de la milicia y la aristocracia japonesa podían practicarlo.

En Costa Rica el Aikido ha sido desarrollado por varios maestros con mayor o menor éxito, sin embargo este arte marcial tiene una historia corta y es poco conocido.
Sensei Marco González ha desarrollado en forma consistente la enseñanza del Aikido estando al frente de varias escuelas, tales como las de la Policía Municipal (escuelas recreativas), en ProDanza, Nueva Acrópolis y otras más, grupos de sus alumnos junto a él han presentado gran cantidad de exhibiciones, por ejemplo en el Congreso Latinoamericano de la Policía Municipal, en Fanal, Fercori y en empresas privadas, entre otras.
El enfoque del Sensei Marco González siempre ha sido el de difundir el Aikido de la forma más leal a su técnica, etiqueta y filosofía.

In Costa Rica the Aikido has been developed by several teachers with greater or smaller success, nevertheless this martial art has a short history and it is not known.
Sensei Marco González has developed in consistent form the education of the Aikido being to the front of several schools, such as those of the Municipal Police (recreational schools), in ProDanza, the New Acropolis and others more, groups of its students next to him have presented great amount of exhibitions, for example in the Latin American Congress of the Municipal Police, in Lantern, Fercori and in several privated companies, among others. The approach of the Sensei Marco González always has been the one to spread the Aikido of the most loyal form to its technique and philosophy..

El Sensei Marco González ha asistido a numerosos seminarios internacionales dirigidos por Sensei de la jerarquía de Hitohiro Saito, Gaku Homma Kancho, Sensei Manuel Ruiz, Steve Ota etc.
El Aikido es el arte marcial por excelencia, refleja de forma muy especial el espíritu de los Samurai, a la vez que se adapta a los tiempos modernos ofreciendo la oportunidad de desarrollo de la técnica de la defensa personal, equilibrio interno y estabilidad emocional, características tan importantes en nuestros días.
